FERTIREG Handling
First year
. Because it is composed of perennial plants, the grassland has slower initial growth, therefore, it must be grazed 3-5 months after sowing (whenever grassland vegetative growth justifies it).
. The first cut (by grazing or mechanical), improves the crop’s homogeneity and controls weeds, improving its floristic composition.
Second year and following years
. The winter rest (or reduction of stocking) from mid-November to February increases forage production.
. When cutting for hay or silage, must remove animals from February to May and let the crop rest in order to obtain a high fodder production when cut.
